American Whiskey Tasting & Cigar Pairing
Jack Rose Dining Saloon
Experience a flight of five American Whiskies styles. This casual seminar will be lead by a Whiskey expert who will guide us through the distillation process and explain what makes each whiskey style unique.
Beer vs. Wine Dinner
A three course family style Southeast Asian meal with wine and
beerpairings for each course, expertly paired by sommelier Brent Kroll
and beer director Sarah Horvitz. Guests will vote after each course on
which beverage was better paired, and we will tally the votes and
annouce the winner during the final course!
Pizza Making Class and Lunch with Unlimited Beer & Wine
Guests will be welcomed with cheese and Salumi followed by pizza
making demo with Alta Strada's new local Italian food guru. After the
demo, enjoy a sit down lunch (Family style) with Roasted Cauliflower,
Crispy Meatballs, Charred Greens, pizza and chocolate pistachio
bundino for dessert. Unlimited house wine and Moretti included.
Night Market for Chinese New Year
The Source by Wolfgang Puck
An all-you-can-eat Chinese barbecue-themed dinner with wine pairings! Live action stations will be followed by a three-course prix fixe menu. Chef Scott Drewno will be joined by guest chefs Andrew Evans and the teams from Texas Jack's Barbecue and The Tavern at Ivy City Smokehouse. Lion dancers will provide evening entertainment.
The celebrated mother-and-son team Chef Yesoon Lee and Chef Danny Lee
have put together a fabulous menu featuring homestyle Korean cuisine,
carefully paired with wine and soju to delight your palate.
Educational butchery seminar followed by a multi-coursed, beef-centric, boozy lunch! Star Chef Victor Albisu’s team at Del Campo will wow us with a demonstration of their butchery skills, then delight us with fabulous food and beverage in their newly renovated dining room.
Rosé All Day
We will discuss the various methods of making rosé wine and then sample a dozen different rosés from all over the world. You will get to taste several small plates by Chef Ris Lacoste and see why this wine style was chosen "Best Wine" in this year's Sommelier Smack Down at Cochon 555.
Proceeds from these events will be used to provide scholarships for those students wishing to pursue a career in the industry who lack the financial means by which to make that pursuit a reality.
DC Food and Beverage Collective, founded as the successor to the DC Chapter of the American Institute of Wine and Food (AIWF), is a non-profit organization created to support those individuals wishing to enter the food and beverage industry as trained and educated professionals.
Our goal is to promote the Washington, DC food and beverage scene in a fun and responsible manner through events highlighting restaurants, chefs, sommeliers, cicerones, and other professionals in the industry.
